My experience as a collaborative pianist and composer allows me to offer special insight while working with chamber ensembles and helping them to prepare for performances, adjudications and competitions.
I will help the ensemble understand the compositional structure of the piece and analyze the lines and voicings within it, and how that affects dynamics, articulation, phrasing, and general interpretation. Additionally, I will advise regarding tone, intonation, and balance.
My location has a baby grand piano and room for an ensemble of up to 20 people. It is not suitable for instruments that cannot be easily carried up stairs. I can travel to your location for a small fee if the instruments necessitate meeting elsewhere.
Chamber Ensemble Coaching is available for ensembles in Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut. Workshops are held on Saturdays.
